Powerline on PropaGannon
Powerline had a story today about PropaGannon which basically says they don't understand what all the fuss is about. I know I'm probably wearing you out with Gannon talk the past couple of days, but I thought, in the interest of rebuttal, I'd print the text of the email I sent them (since they don't allow comments) here, with a trackback to them.
I'm sure you are getting tons of email from the left side, I'll try to keep this brief and even-handed.There is more to the story that what you mention in your post. First of all, if you read the SusanG diary over at Kos, you'll see that there was not attempt to out Gannon as a gay man, but that they uncovered website domains registered to him that promoted military gay escort services.I've said several times on my own blog that, as a Democrat, I'm not a fan of outing gay Republicans just for the sake of embarrasment, and it kept me away from this story for a while. The fact he got into the White House press room under an alias is troubling because it means that either, a)Gannon/Guckert broke through the vetting and security to get into the toughest room in Washington which, if true, indicates a HUGE security problem inside the White House itself, or b)The White House knew he was using a psuedonym and let him in anyway, something that no one has ever been allowed to do before (that we know of). If the latter is true, one has to wonder why.At this time, there are ancillary accounts of his connection to the Plame outing. I admit there is nothing but circumstantial evidence at this point (namely a WaPo article indicating that he was the ONLY person with a classified internal CIA memo), but if this bears out as true then that, combined with the fact that he either snuck into the press room or was let into the press room, is a big, big story. And that story is much bigger than outing a gay Republican for the sake of embarrasment. Thanks,Dylan

The only thing substantive I saw in the Wolf interview was he said he used his real name and social security number when submitting for his White House press pass.
